What the Tests Measure — and What They Don't

All microbiological test results were obtained under controlled laboratory conditions: a closed test chamber, defined temperature (~25°C), humidity and exposure time. These are not measurements in a real-use environment.

Real-world effectiveness depends on: fixture mounting height, distance from most exposed surfaces, continuous operating time and room specifics (ventilation, airflow, finishing materials).

EVSUN EVLN is a hygiene-supporting technology — it does not replace mandatory disinfection procedures in medical, food-processing or other regulated environments.

Test results from TÜV SÜD, UGENE, IBPRS-PIB and PZH laboratories are original documents available for PDF download. They have not been modified or reinterpreted.

Frequently Asked Questions about Research

Are the tests independent?
Yes. All tests were conducted by external, accredited laboratories: TÜV SÜD (Germany), UGENE (Singapore), IBPRS-PIB (Poland) and PZH (Poland). EVSUN manufacturer had no influence on methodology or results.
What does 99.71% reduction mean?
It means that in the laboratory test (ISO 27447) the population of Staphylococcus aureus decreased by 99.71% within 6 hours of EVLN light exposure, compared to a control sample without light exposure.
How does the TÜV SÜD Witness Test work?
The Witness Test is a test conducted by an independent laboratory in the presence of a certified TÜV SÜD observer who oversees the entire test, verifies conditions and signs documentation. This is the highest standard of effectiveness verification.
Do the tests reflect real-world conditions?
Laboratory tests are conducted in controlled chamber conditions that don't fully replicate real-world installation conditions. The IBPRS study (Poland) was conducted in an actual 9 m² room, supplementing the laboratory data.
How long does the photocatalyst last?
The TiO₂ photocatalytic coating on EVSUN fixtures is durable for the entire lamp lifetime (>50,000h). It does not degrade or require regeneration — it works throughout the fixture's operating life.
Are there results for viruses?
Available certified studies cover bacteria (S. aureus, E. coli) and general microorganisms, as well as moulds/yeasts. Virological studies are not included in currently available EVSUN documentation.
